RETRORELEASE: Hidden Treasures

No Instruments!

What is it about a cappella singing?  It is one of my favorite styles and one that often gives the audience “chills”!

What Great Music Feels Like

This a cappella quartet opens Hidden Treasures:  A Musical Revue of the Parables of Jesus Christ.

The song “Hidden Treasures” is based on 2 short parables which are found in Matthew 13:44-46.  The lyrics are on the Hidden Treasures musical home page, here:

I love all kinds of a cappella singing!  I like the technology-heavy version of a single artist singing against his own voice (like Peter Hollens’ version of “I See Fire“) or BYU’s Vocal Point’s version of Newsies, or the modern-gospel style of Mountain Blue.  Mmm, mmm, mmm!

My thanks to the pitch-perfect singers who joined me on this song:  Tasha Fischer, Bruce Dangerfield and Bruce Burton.  It was magic to step onto the stage with them each evening and draw the audience into our musical embrace.
